SquareSpy will alert you via email or Twitter (Direct Message or "@" mention) when anyone checks in to a specified FourSquare venue.
Without SquareSpy, you can only be notified when your friends check into your favorite venues, and even then you have to pay attention to each of their check-ins to know if they checked into a particular venue.
